announce that it has achieved excellent results
at the 5th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition
and the Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition
2004.
Organised
by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council,
the Hong Kong Jewellers¡¦ & Goldsmiths¡¦
Association, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade
Manufacturers Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry
Manufacturers¡¦ Association and the Diamond
Federation of Hong Kong, the 5th Hong Kong
Jewellery Design Competition has announced
the competition¡¦s results on 23 February.
Luk Fook has successfully won two ¡§Best of
Show¡¨
Awards and six Merit Awards in the Competition.
The two ¡§Best of Show¡¨ Awards comprised of
¡§Blissful Jump¡¨ ¡V earrings and ¡§Rebirth¡¨
¡V necklace. Merit Awards include ¡§Sunflower¡¨
¡V watch, ¡§Dance¡¨ ¡V ring, ¡§Thousand Stars¡¨
¡V
earrings, ¡§S.cascade¡¨ ¡V brooch, ¡§Dream¡¨
¡V pendant and ¡§Fancy Dew¡¨ ¡V pendant.
In
addition, with the innovative ideas and the
exquisite craftsmanship of our designers,
Luk Fook has won two awards at the Chuk Kam
Jewellery Design Competition 2004, as organized
by the Hong Kong Jewellers¡¦ & Goldsmiths¡¦
Association, the Hong Kong Trade Development
Council and the World Gold Council. Winning
pieces include ¡§Às¡B»ñ¡¨ in the K-gold category
and ¡§Às¯]¡¨ in the popularity category.
Luk
Fook places great emphasis on the design
and manufacture of jewellery. Over the years,
it has actively participated in numerous design
competitions with different themes, such as
jewellery, diamond and gold jewellery. Through
participating in these competitions, the Group
believes that it could enhance its design standard,
manufacturing technique and could also keep
abreast of the latest product trend. Moreover,
it could enhance Luk Fook¡¦s corporate profile
and reputation in the industry.
Chairman
of Luk Fook, Mr. Wong Wai Sheung, is delighted
about the group¡¦s encouraging
results in the design competitions. Mr. Wong
said, ¡§the success in achieving excellent
results in the competitions was mainly attributed
to
our designs which were characterized by the
beauty of East Meets West, together with the
integration of artistic design and practicality
which outperformed our competitors. With the
surging number of mainland tourists visiting
Hong Kong, and the acceptance of renminbi credit
cards in Hong Kong, it is expected to boost
the local retail industry and therefore is
positive towards the future prospects of the
