(Hong Kong, 27 February 2006) ------ Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (“Luk Fook” / the “Group”) (Stock Code: 590), the leading gold and jewellery retailer in Hong Kong, proudly announced that the Group obtained “2005 Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Customer Service Certificate of Merit” by The Hong Kong Retail Management Association, for the Group’s dedication to excellent customer services.

“2005 Hong Kong Awards for Industries” was emerged from the “Hong Kong Awards for Industry” and the “Hong Kong Awards for Services” and it is the only Awards Scheme of its kind that is supported by the Hong Kong SAR Government. The award aims (1) to recognize the distinguished achievements of Hong Kong service enterprises, (2) to promote the importance of quality service, (3) to improve Hong Kong’s overall standard of customer service and (4) to increase Hong Kong’s competitiveness as an international “service centre”.
The “Hong Kong Awards for Industries” comprised of seven categories organized by different institutions, of which The Hong Kong Retail Management Association is responsible for “Customer Service Award”. Industries participating the competition include banking, catering, hotel, insurance, motor, property agency and management, retailing, transportation and general services. To be eligible to the competition, companies have to be engaged in service-oriented business and operating in Hong Kong. The award results are mainly based on two rounds of customer service assessment scheme, namely the “Customer Service Improvement Proposal” and “Mystery Shoppers”. While the proposal covers company’s vision and theory on customer service improvement, “Mystery Shoppers” evaluates how frontline service performance in the real life fulfills the company philosophy written on proposal.
The presentation ceremony of “2005 Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Customer Service Award”, officiated by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Mr. Donald Tsang, was held on 27 February 2006 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
