DISCOVERS ANOTHER FRAUDULENT CASE FOLLOWING
THE FALSE WEBSITE
REPORTED TO
THE HONG KONG POLICE
FORCE FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION
(Hong Kong, 24 October 2006) ------ Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (¡§Luk Fook¡¨ / the ¡§Company¡¨) (Stock Code: 0590), the leading gold and jewellery retailer in Hong Kong, recently discovered that someone in Taiwan, who claimed to be on behalf of ¡§Hong Kong Luk Fook International Group¡¨, sent out ¡§Winner Notification Letters¡¨ to ¡§prize-winners¡¨ of a charity activity. It is suspected that someone is engaging in fraudulent activities. The case has been reported to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation.
Recently, inquiries were received by the Company from consumers in Taiwan about a letter from a ¡§law firm¡¨ which claimed that ¡§Hong Kong Luk Fook International Group¡¨ had held a charity activity (¡u·P®¦·Oµ½±ß·|¡v). It is said that the firm was authorized to send out a letter to notify ¡§winners¡¨ of the prize and the ¡§winners¡¨ were instructed to deposit money in a certain bank account. All of the said activities have nothing to do with Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (¤»ºÖ¶°¹Î(°ê»Ú)¦³¤½¥q) or any of its subsidiaries and associates. The Company¡¦s rights to take action against the relevant individuals or organizations are expressly reserved. The Company restates that it has never held any charity activities in Taiwan.

Luk Fook Group currently has a total of over 260 retail outlets in Hong Kong, Macau, U.S., Canada and the PRC. The Company states that the Company does not have any branch, subsidiary, associate or representative office in Taiwan. Also, the Company reminds citizens to keep alert that it has never organised any charity activities in Taiwan and has never authorized legal firms to release any documents.
