[ Hong Kong , 24 January 2007] ---- Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (¡§Luk Fook¡¨ / the ¡§Group¡¨) (Stock Code: 0590), the leading gold and jewellery retailer in Hong Kong, is pleased to announce that the Group has successfully attained the ¡§Superbrands¡¨ Award for 2006 / 2007 organized by an independent arbiter of branding, ¡§Superbrands¡¨. Award presentation ceremony will be taking place today.
¡§ Superbrands ¡¨ compiles a list of brands and submits to its independent Council in Hong Kong for grading. The Hong Kong Superbrands Council , with their individual wealth of industry knowledge and professionalism , will qualitatively assess the brands and scores elements of each brand based on strict selection criteria of market , such as, market dominance, longe vity, goodwill, customer loyalty and overall market acceptance. Specific number of b rand s that gain a high score will qualify as Superbrand s .
Once ¡§Superbrands¡¨ is granted, the Group is not only able to adopt the ¡§Superbrands Status¡¨ award logo in all promotion campaigns as well as product packaging, but the history, milestone and positioning of the Group will also be illustrated on Superbrands' publication and circulated among many thousands of target readers in Hong Kong, such as, investment managers, analysts, media commentators as well as potential clients including top corporate executives, 5-star-hotel residents, and business-class passengers, etc. In addition, the Group's achievements will be highlighted to the mass public through Superbrands' activities involving nationwide TV, radio and print media campaigns.
