Appointed as Sector/ Subject Specialist of HKCAA

Giving generous support to the industry of authentication
The professionalism of Luk Fook Group over the aspect of authentication of jewellery is now be greatly recognized by the appointment of Mr Tommy Tsui, the Laboratory Director of Luk Fook Group, as a ¡§Sector/ Subject Specialist¡¨ of Hong Kong Council for Academic Association (HKCAA). The appointment requires the specialists to advise the Council on manpower development, quality assurance and related issues of the sector/industry, t o assist HKCAA in quality assurance exercises as well as sharing the experience and expertise in the industry. Luk Fook Group gives its generous support to the Council and Mr Tsui for their contributions toward the development of the industry.
The HKCAA has been entrusted by the Government since 1990 to develop a quality assurance mechanism with a Qualifications Framework for qualifications in the academic, vocational and continuing education sectors. With its expanded role, the Council needs to strengthen its linkage with the trades and the professions in order to ensure that the skills, knowledge and quality of the Council's workforce would meet the requirements of different industries. The nominees of the ¡§Sector/ Subject Specialists¡¨ must be the practitioners serving in the sector with much working experience and expertise in the subject concerned. Training/ teaching and accreditation experiences are also required.
Mr Tommy Tsui said, ¡§I am very delighted and honoured to be appointed as the Sector/ Subject Specialist by HKCCA. I shall try my best to contribute the Council and the industry with my own specialties and expertise. And I am so grateful for the infinite support of Luk Fook Group.¡¨
China Gems Laboratory
Luk Fook Group's wholly owned subsidiary gems laboratory ¡§China Gems Laboratory¡¨ was set up in 1996 to ensure the quality of products of Luk Fook Jewellery. Dozens of certified gemologists with professional qualifications and rich experiences, including Mr Tommy Tsui, are employed to provide the service of authentication and grading of diamonds, gemstones and jade. The Laboratory is the sole subsidiary laboratory of local jewellery retailer with the ISO 17025 qualification accredited by the Hong Kong Accreditation Service. The honour undoubtedly raises customers' confidence in purchasing Luk Fook's jewellery.
